His Dreamscape

Drawn for *daughterofthestars' contest (it won second prize!), which asked for one of her characters to be drawn with one of my characters--so I drew her unicorn Calysra with a character I identify with--the lovely Scotsman Jamie McCrimmon! (Now sans kilt!)

I spent a lot of time on this. I've never painted a background this intensive for anything before, and I really like how it came out. I'm still not 100% pleased with the way the lighting falls on the characters (I feel there should be more shadow on Jamie's face, but it looked daft every time I tried). But I'd still say it was a successful venture. I'm quite pleased with the end result!
